Aeonium is one of the most celebrated succulents. Its stems with leaves arranged in rosette shape on top give the impression of flowers. These are available in various leaf colors. The leaves are leathery, oblong, and symmetrical.
Soil: Soil should be well-drained, waterlogging may cause rot of the lower stem and leaves. Bread crumb textured soils provide good air and water balance and help in good root growth.
Water: It requires very less water. One cup of water twice a week under ambient temperature.
Climate: It favors full sunlight. Withstands harsh climatic conditions. It can be grown under filtered sunlight but full shade can hamper its growth. High humidity can damage the leaves. The ideal temperature requirement is 18 degrees to 32 degrees Celcius.
Garden Use: Aeonium is mostly used as a pot plant, The plants are the ideal choice for terrariums, rock garden, and xeriscaping.
Care and Maintenance: Watering is done at the base, avoid pouring water on the leaves. Avoid water stagnation. Once established well it can thrive harsh conditions.
