Soil: Ferns require loose, porous, and crumbled soil or soil-less plant media to grow. Soil should be rich in organic matter, tree fronds, or chips, and we decomposed compost. Soil should be well-drained and good water holding capacity.

Nutrition: Ferms don't require chemical fertilizer or any concentrate organic manure. Apply well-decomposed leaf mold or coco chips to make growing media firm and rich to support its growth.
Protection: Aphids, mealy bugs, and scales are common pests of ferns. In order to control it you can use any an organic insect repellent. Cleaning of plant and pot is advised. Other insect pests are snails and slugs, these can be very destructive. Do not keep ferns wet for a very long time. These can be handpicked and removed from the plants.
The common diseases are frond rot and leaf burning which can be controlled by watering ferns at the base and not on top of the foliage. Avoid overhead watering.
Horticulture Operations: Repot in when it has outgrown its pot, using a container that provides good drainage.
